All of my work

My mother has come and taken all of my work since January 2011, thinking of distributing it in galleries across Mexico City and the interior. I am most hopeful for the silver rings and earrings, since that aesthetic appeals to a greater variety of people and the material is more valued than found objects. but she took also my latest series, "Imaginary objects" and some bracelets I made to compliment the necklaces. I have such high hopes for this works!

Pretty in green

It is rare that I get commissioned to make something for someone, but the wife of one of my classmates asked me to make her something in green and silver.
This necklace has Jade, mother of pearl, opalite and two vintage rhinestone pieces, joined together with sterling silver wire.
And this is the beautiful and ever mysterious Heather McDermid wearing one of my doll pieces to a show - she's a musician amongst other things.

More found object earrings

Milagro Mexican charms of a head, said to heal all the illnesses of the head and mind...
Objects I found at the flea market, a seahorse and some medals,
These are not made with found objects, these are labradorite and freshwater pearls.
These are indeed found objects, one is a leaf made of wood, and the other is a mysterious bone.
Hardware and a mother of pearl button with glass crystal beads.

Earrings and other bits

Milagro charms and the leg bones of a rat. I love the faceted freshwater pearls.
Mexican milagros of a stabbed heart, known for the powers to heal a broken heart and other emotional wounds.

Religious earrings, Mexican style.
These ones are retro 80s romantic, they are vintage mirror beads.

Illustration and resin earrings

I saw paper earrings like this ones in the winter 2010 issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry, the concept is by Shannon LeVart. But I decided to make them with illustrations from a book from 1905 I got at a vintage store. They are covered with Ice resin, and in the back they have many coats of gel medium, so they are waterproof.

Bezel pendants

This bezel pendants are made with brass sheet and copper pipe, soldered together and then aged with a dark patina. The image in the center is an illustration from a book from 1905 (the book is very damaged so I don't mind cutting it), the image is preserved in resin. I used Ice Resin, a two part resin that is jewelry grade and non-toxic.

Two necklaces.

This one features an antique German doll's head from 1890, hand painted. I made a tassel of Picasso jasper. The ribbon is sari silk in a beautiful redish purple.

This one is a multi strand necklace I made using vintage faux pearls. It has tons of bling.

Earring galore!

An avant-garde pair of finger earrings made out of .999 silver, these are strange and unique, I love how they turned out.

Two pairs using milagro stabbed hearts from Mexico, I put a light black patina in these so that they would look oxidized.

Milagro hand and leg from Mexico, also patinated. The top bead is a pyrite and the ribbon is fair trade sari silk from Nepal.

These are small hearts with eyes on them. I designed these in polymer clay first. I like the results, but I think I am going to polish the design so that it looks less rustic.
