A quick post to show my successful experiments with etching solution. My spring-summer line is on its way!

Brass pendants and cuffs

The production of several pendants and cuffs with the amazing techniques I can do with my new torch. These too will go to the museum gift shops in Mexico. My studio is soaring! Inspiration abounds! Yay for new tools!

In context

This is my new earring set in the context of my ear... I have a new torch that works better than any of my previous torches. It fused the PMC in no time!

This are my newest earrings, made by casting a shell. In the picture there is no way to understand the scale, so I will photograph them again in context...

Fall season collection

October 16th will be the day I am having the opening for my Fall Collection, a wine and cheese party. After the opening, my fall collection will go to Mexico, where it will be displayed in a number of museum gift shops.

After a long break from posting in my blog, I am back with some more from my series "Imaginary Objects" combining brass stampings with found objects and bezel charms.

All of my work

My mother has come and taken all of my work since January 2011, thinking of distributing it in galleries across Mexico City and the interior. I am most hopeful for the silver rings and earrings, since that aesthetic appeals to a greater variety of people and the material is more valued than found objects. but she took also my latest series, "Imaginary objects" and some bracelets I made to compliment the necklaces. I have such high hopes for this works!

This is what can be accomplished with a good torch and some different pliers.

Pretty in green

It is rare that I get commissioned to make something for someone, but the wife of one of my classmates asked me to make her something in green and silver.

This necklace has Jade, mother of pearl, opalite and two vintage rhinestone pieces, joined together with sterling silver wire.
And this is the beautiful and ever mysterious Heather McDermid wearing one of my doll pieces to a show - she's a musician amongst other things.

Imaginary objects

Some of my newest pieces, inspired by my series "Alchemy" , art Nouveau and the techniques learned online from Stephanie Lee's metalsmithing course. These are baroque and romantic, whimsical and extravagant.

These are not made with found objects, these are labradorite and freshwater pearls.
These are indeed found objects, one is a leaf made of wood, and the other is a mysterious bone.
