Vintage Venus Jewelry on the road
So, Bob and Aviva turned 40 years together and I went to their party yesterday along with a box of my necklaces. I sold a bunch there! I also got such good comments. I've been getting a very good response. I love every aspect of the jewelry business, from the buying things online to the creation to the photographing to the selling, it is all great!

Vintage Venus Jewelry Opening
So, tonight was the formal opening of my business as such, and it was very well attended. There was wine and lovely people, and some sales and everyone looked fabulous with their pieces. I took some photos of people trying things on. I thank everyone that attended this heartfelt event.

I want to apply to my first Craft Market this month, and I know it is not easy to get a spot but I will try anyway. I am also thinking of having an opening-like event here in my house, invite some people and show them what I do, have some food and wine. For now I will upload some of the new pieces I've been working on.

Unexpected sales
So, quite unexpectedly three ladies came to my house to see my jewelry and I ended up selling them some very nice pieces, one of them I hadn't even photographed yet. They liked my style and they reserved some stuff, promising to come back on the 15th of April. I guess word of mouth works well, I wonder how to find out about craft markets and the such.

So, today I sold my first piece ever. I sold "night flower" to someone I know, she saw it in my etsy shop but ordered it in person. I am happy my first sale ever wasn't from someone in my family - that would be cheating, kind of.
I hope she enjoys her piece and likes it in person as much as she liked the picture. I guess I have first-sale nervousness. At the end of the day, Hurray for the first sale!

New piece
I am kind of sad I didn't get accepted into the Masters of Interdisciplinary Arts. On the other hand, I made a new piece and my mom really liked it. Again, I think I can photograph it better and I will do so this weekend. This new piece is Green Aurora Borealis rhinestones and faux pearls.

Starting a blog
So it seems that a lot of artists out there have a blog as a way to meet each other, display their work and get feedback. I think I will do the same!
I have been making found object jewelry for a few years now, but only in the past month have I started selling and advertising myself as a jewelry artist. I just started an Etsy shop, and I am unsure about my pictures. If you have any comments, they will be greatly appreciated.
