Hansel and Gretel

Remember the ring with a hand-painted doll's head that I posted yesterday? I sold it overnight to an Etsy costumer. My new two pieces are doll's heads inspired in the story of Hansel and Gretel.

This one has a tassel of opalite and a string of blue Swaroski crystals.
And this one has vintage plastic beads and also a tassel of opalite drops. I love these doll parts, they are so interesting and mysterious.

Doll galore

I received a big shipment of antique German dolls' heads and I have been playing with them. The most difficult part about working with these dolls is actually making the holes to hang them, my dremel bits are just not strong enough.

I painted this one white and hanged a tassel of purple agate.
This is a ring I made with the head of a tiny doll. I love the paint on the face. These dolls are hand painted. I some times like to imagine the person who painted them over 100 years ago.
I really like how this one turned out. The beads in the side are watermelon tourmaline, and I used a new technique for beading with wire, it was my first time doing that technique. The face of the doll is just adorable.

Rose brooch

A new brooch I made as a collaboration with my friend Marina, she gave me the flower and I added a vintage heart locket and a German porcelain doll.

Alchemical child

I love the new elements I am integrating in my work. The sari silk has amazing colours, and the semiprecious stones are powerful and beautiful. This piece is my newest one, now on Etsy. The hair is made out of silk flowers, and the tassel hanging form the head is made of Opalite drops.

One side of the chain has green rhinestones, and the other side has faux vintage pearls and a shiny and lustrous purple sari silk ribbon.


The face still has dirt from having been buried in the ground for a hundred years, and I left it as is because I think that it adds to its antiqued beauty and sense of mystery.

Rose child

This is the first piece I make using the fare trade silk from Nepal... I really like the raggedy effect and the overall aesthetic of the piece. The glass drop with a rose sticker was given to me by my friend Marina from fancifuldevices. I am yet to write about my meeting with her in Chicago, and the revealing of her secrets. I will do that soon, I promise.

The white beads are coral that my mom got in Mexico.

The doll is German from the 1890s. I love working with these dolls.

Mysterious red

I created this piece with an antique multicolor shoe clip, a rhinestone wheel, one of my antique German porcelain dolls form the 1890s, Czech blue and golden crystal beads and a piece of red coral branch. I love this tone of red, it is so rich and mysterious. I am quite proud of the way this piece turned out.
